ARCHITECTURAL CERAMICS ANNOUNCES
PURCHASE OF 100% WIND ENERGY.
WASHINGTON, DC (December 8, 2008) – Clean Currents, LLC, a DC area clean energy business, today announced that it has successfully brokered an arrangement for Architectural Ceramics’ Rockville and Bethesda, MD locations to switch to 100 percent wind power.
Architectural Ceramics, a leading source of stone and ceramics for commercial and residential use in the DC metropolitan area, will offset 719,024 pounds of carbon dioxide annually. This is equivalent to taking fifty-nine passenger vehicles off the road or recycling one-hundred twelve tons of waste.
Clean Currents is a licensed clean energy broker and aggregator in Maryland and DC with operational ability in Chicago, Texas, and other areas where there is a competitive electricity market. It was established in 2005 to promote solutions to today’s biggest environmental challenges – global warming and air pollution, and to assist businesses in taking a greater responsibility for protecting the environment while conducting their operations.
“We were excited to help Architectural Ceramics meet its commitment to clean energy and clean air,” said Gary Skulnik, co-founder and president of Clean Currents. “We salute Architectural Ceramics for their environmental leadership and we extend the offer to every business in our region to assist them in going green and possibly saving money.”
Other clean energy deals recently brokered by Clean Currents include Ammon Heisler Sachs Architects, Svec Conway Printing, Takoma Metro Partnership, and Perfect Settings.
